Being real
about travel.

Wondering where to go next? Get an honest look before you go. Plus, get a few tips on how to get there for free.

Travel guides can be a lot to get through. I wanted these ones to let my photos do most of the talking. Find your next adventure, and see how to get there for (a lot) less.

Beginner's Guide to Free Travel

😃 You can fly around the world for free. 😒 You could’ve been doing it this whole time.

Hey, it's never too late to start. The big banks want to pay for your next flights, and you don’t even have to pay a single bit of interest.

  • Always pay off every statement in full, and you'll never pay a dollar of interest.
  • Autopay, always. Don’t procrastinate on this one. It’s too easy to lose track, and even one missed payment is costly.
  • Watch the annual fees. Know when they’re coming up and be very selective about which cards you keep around.

Getting More

Go farther with your miles.

Earn more miles and get more value from them to take you farther.

About

Experience More With Less

Everything seems to cost more lately—dinner out, a weekend away, even a pretty ordinary vacation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In much of the world, everything is so much more affordable. A mid-range hotel might cost $50 instead of $200, while a nice dinner ends up being $20 instead of $100.

Most Americans don’t realize just how dramatically prices can vary for things that can’t be shipped across borders: a meal, a haircut, a taxi ride—or even a hotel room.

The expensive part is often just getting there. And look, nobody enjoys paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for a plane ticket, or spending hours on the plane to get there.

That’s why I created TravelWise: to share the two things that changed how I travel—how to make the flight almost free, and with that freedom, deciding where to go.

It's less about frugal travel and more around getting the most out of your limited time and money.

Because once the flight stops being the barrier, the whole world opens up.
